1. Barsaat Ki Ek Raat
Barsaat Ki Ek Raat (One Rainy Night) is a Bollywood movie starring Amitabh Bachchan, Raakhee, Amjad Khan, and Utpal Dutt. It was directed by Shakti Samanta. The film was at the same time shot in two languages, Hindi and Bengali.
The Bengali version, titled Anusandhan. The story was modified from the novel Anushandhan by Shaktipada Rajguru. The film is recollected for the classic songs “Apne Pyar Ke Sapne Sach Hue” and “Kaliram Ka Khul Gaya Pol”. The film was shot at Darjeeling, West Bengal.

Lootera ( Robber) is an Indian historical romance film directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and partly based on author O. Henry’s short story The Last Leaf. Set in the era of the 1950s, against the backdrop of the Zamindari Abolition Act by the newly independent India, it tells the story of a young archaeologist and the daughter of a Bengali zamindar. The film stars Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles. In the picturesque town of Manikpur, West Bengal the film has been shot.

Gunday (Outlaws) is a Hindi action thriller film written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The movie features Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan in the lead roles. Set in 1971–1988 Calcutta, Gunday is a story about two best friends and criminals, who fall crazy with a cabaret dancer, which causes opposition and misunderstandings between them.
Zafar considered the film as a mixture of stories he had heard from his father as a child about the effects of war-caused immigration and the Mafia Raj’s illegal marketing of coal. He wrote the film as a tale of the costs of the struggle of two outlaws against the system, using his father’s stories as a backdrop for the characters. Major photography began in Mumbai in December 2012 before moving to Kolkata, where extensive filming was done. The film won the Best Action at the 60th Filmfare Awards and was selected for Best Choreography for the song “Tune Maari Entriyaan”.

Barfi is a Hindi comedy-drama film co-produced, written, and directed by Anurag Basu. Set in the 1970s, the film depicts the story of Murphy “Barfi” Johnson (a deaf-mute boy from Darjeeling) and his relationships with two women, Shruti and Jhilmil (who is autistic). The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Ileana D’Cruz in the lead roles.
At the 58th Filmfare Awards, the film received thirteen nominations with Best Actress for Chopra, and Best Supporting Actress for D’Cruz, and won seven including Best Film, Best Actor for Kapoor, Best Female Debut for D’Cruz, and Best Music Directors for Pritam.
5. Love Aaj Kal
Love Aaj Kal (Love nowadays) is an Indian Hindi romantic comedy starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in principal roles. The film is directed by Imtiaz Ali. The film depicts the feeling of pure love which never changes, although the perspective of realizing one’s soulmate has changed over time. It was remade into Telugu. The shooting of the film took place at the railway station of Patiala, Red Fort, Purana Qila, and on the streets of Delhi. Parts were shot in London, San Francisco, and Kolkata.

Parineeta (The Married Woman) is a Hindi musical romantic film adaptation of the 1914 Bengali novella of a similar name by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. Directed by debutant Pradeep Sarkar, it had been based upon a screenplay by the film’s producer, Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The film featured Vidya Balan, Sanjay Dutt and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. Raima Sen plays the supporting role of Lalita’s chirpy cousin.
Sabyasachi Chakrabarty plays the pivotal role of Shekhar’s father. Parineeta was showcased at several international film festivals. Since Sarkar knew the town of Kolkata very well, the film was primarily shot there. While most of the film was completed in Kolkata, a small portion was shot in Darjeeling.

Piku is a 2015 Indian comedy-drama film directed by Shoojit Sircar stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Irrfan Khan, with Moushumi Chatterjee and Jisshu Sengupta portraying supporting roles. Anupam Roy composed the soundtrack and score and wrote the lyrics. The film was nominated for Best Film in the 61st Filmfare Awards, also as other categories. Padukone won her second Filmfare Award for Best Actress, and Bachchan received his record-setting fourth National Film Award for Best Actor.
Major photography for Piku took off in Kolkata. The first schedule for Piku was also filmed in Delhi and Mumbai and the second schedule of filming done in Kolkata, mostly in the north Kolkata. Precisely, the shooting took place at the Howrah Bridge in the city’s Shyambazar neighborhood and at Bishop Lefroy Road.
Tamasha (Spectacle) is a Hindi romance film written and directed by Imtiaz Ali. It features Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Filmed briefly in Corsica, Indian cities–Shimla, Delhi, Gurgaon, and Kolkata. The film tells the story of character Ved Vardhan Sahni (played by Ranbir Kapoor) in three stages–as a nine-year-old child, a 19-year-old young, and a 30-year-old adult in a drama-based non-linear screenplay.
The film received nominations for direction, music, and performances of the principal actors, notably Ranbir Kapoor being nominated under the Filmfare Award for Best Actor category.
9. Jagga Jasoos
Jagga Jasoos (Detective Jagga) is a 2017 Indian Hindi musical mystery comedy film written and directed by Anurag Basu. The film features Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in lead roles, and tells the story of a teenage detective in search of his missing father.
Jagga Jasoos received 10 nominations at 63rd Filmfare Awards, winning four of them for the film’s music. The story of Jagga Jasoos circles around the infamous high-profile case of Purulia Arms Drop, which happened in the year 1995.
Khamoshi is a fascinating tale of a female nurse trying to maintain a balance between her professional life and her emotions who fall victim to the natural feeling of love and compassion when a person takes care of another person. The director of this film was Asit Sen and starred by Rajesh Khanna, Waheeda Rehman, Nasir Hussain.
